Himani Chauhan is an International Relations & History graduate and is currently pursuing a Masters of Migration Studies from Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand). She comes from a family of immigrants which has shaped her         experiences, views, and interests in wanting to further explore and work in this area of study. Irram Irfan has completed her Masters in English and Comparative Literature from Pondicherry University. She is currently a PGDTE student at English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. Melody Khuoltaikim Singson is a law student from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi who often delves into legal research, content writing and editing with a profound interest in international law, relations, refugee law, human rights law, and peace, conflict & security studies and intends to pursue a Masters of Law degree in the same to further her knowledge and contribute meaningfully to what she considers her purpose.

Simran Dhingra is pursuing a Master’s in Conflict Analysis and Peacebuilding. She is a delegate, advocating for a nuclear weapons free world at Member State Party Youth Conference in Vienna, 2022 organised by Youth4TPNW. She has worked as Communications and Engagement intern with United Nations Climate Change, Germany and contributed to the COP26 held in Glasgow. She has interned with National Human Rights Commission India. Her commitment to gender, peacebuilding and human rights led her to be selected as one of the Young Ambassadors by Initiatives of Change, Switzerland (2021). She received a scholarship in recognition of her peacebuilding work to attend the Summer Peacebuilding Programme, organised by Middlebury Institute of International Studies USA. Her main areas of interest are gender, migration, peace and memory studies.

Alisha Vijay is a Sociology graduate and is currently pursuing her M.A. in Sociology from Pondicherry University. Her area of interest is Migration, Gender Studies, Mental Health, and Human Rights.

Atul Kumar Gupta is a PhD scholar from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has been awarded Junior Research Fellowship by University Grants Commission, India. His areas of interest include – History of Migration and Diaspora in various countries, South Asian migration, Study of displacement and Forced migration, Indenture system, Maistry System in Burma, and Contemporary Indian History.

Benedict Kuol is a passionate entrepreneur and student of the Global Research Forum on Diaspora and Transnationalism as well as a Finance graduate. He has a passion for service and also undertaking training to safeguard the people of the contested areas of South Sudan, Kordufan and Darfur. A volatile region experiencing conflict and volatile plagued by violence and militias. 

Hyacinthe Armel Doumba is a Humanitarian working on refugees and migrant resilience in Cameroon. His passion is to empower and raise the voice of refugees who underwent the consequences of crises. Currently, he is a fellow of the Global Compact for Migration Program of GRFDT. Writing for change is his passion.

Jesula Simon holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy, and she is currently a University Diploma in Conflict Management and Resolution, Mediation and Interculturality. She is a human rights defender, works as a journalist, and has experience in communication and media, public policy, project management, education, protection, community mobilizing with private media, public services, and international organizations. In her work, she particularly enjoys dealing with issues related to migration, and she works at Haiti Migration Group.

Julija Kozlova has a BSc in Environmental Science and is currently pursuing an MSc in Migration. She worked as an intern at the European Commission’s EUROSTAT F3 Unit: Labour Market in Luxembourg in 2021. Julija speaks Latvian, English, and Russian fluently.

Lolita Gogokhia is currently pursuing MA in Eurasian and Caucasian studies, Tbilisi State University (Georgia). She is from a family of forced refugees and is an active member of the Georgian diaspora in Russia. Riza Franchesca Regala is a senior undergraduate student at Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines with a background in European Studies and International Relations. She currently serves as the Asia-Pacific Regional Focal Point at the Migration Youth and Children Platform – Major Group for Children and Youth: a network of young leaders under the auspices of the United Nations General Assembly. Inspired by her grandmother’s stories as a former domestic worker in Greece, she hopes to inspire meaningful change through conducting equitable research in the areas of global and regional migration governance, labor migration, feminization of workforces, and the migration-development nexus.

Anusree P holds a postgraduate degree in Sociology from Pondicherry University and is currently pursuing a certificate course on International Humanitarian Law at IGNOU. Her areas of interest are migration governance, Refugee and forced migration studies.

Bushra Ali Khan completed her MA in Migration and Diaspora Studies from SOAS, University of London in 2021. Originally from India, she is currently working as a Senior Sub-Editor at The Week magazine in London, UK. She’s also a Researcher at Human Development Research Initiative’s Migration and Security team. Her research interest lies in the figure and concept of the ‘subaltern’ drawing from the theories of power, hegemony, and subjugation by Ranajit Guha, Gayatri Spivak and Antonio Gramsci. She is also interested in the inter-relation between the concept of ‘necropolitics’ and ‘waiting’.

Bhowmick Piyali is a PhD scholar at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati Off Campus, India. She obtained MPhil degree in 2016 in Social Sciences from TISS Guwahati campus. She has done MA in Sociology in 2014 from Ambedkar University Delhi, New Delhi. Her areas of interest include- Labour Process, Manufacturing Industry, Sociology of everyday lives, Migration, Family and Kinship, Migration and Social networks.

She has a Publication in: Chapter in an edited volume named- “Employment & Labour Market in North-East India”, where the title of the chapter is “Work, Control and Mobility in the Manufacturing Industry in Assam” in an edited volume published by Routledge (ISBN: 978-1-138-55037-7 (hbk) ISBN: 978-0-429-44702-0 (ebk) in 2018.

Harjinder Singh has completed M.A. in Economics from the Department of Economics, Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Social Sciences, focusing on International Migration with a multidisciplinary approach. He has been awarded Junior Research Fellowship from University Grants Commission. Revathy K J is an incoming Young India Fellow at Ashoka University. She is completing her bachelor’s in Political science from Pondicherry University. She is passionate about human rights and refugee crises across the world. Areas of her research interest include India’s foreign policy with a focus on India’s relations with the Middle East and Sri Lanka.

She has interned with NIAS, CLAWS and the Kootneeti and is a United Nations online Volunteer working on sustainable development goals. She has published her articles in Eurasia Review, Asia Power watch and CLAWS.

Md. Razwan Rahman is a postgraduate in International Relations from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Bangladesh. He has completed BSS in International Relations from BUP as well. After completing his graduation, he participated in different skill development courses e.g., Hospitality and Tourism Management, offered by the Faculty of Executive Education- Florida Atlantic University, Project Management, offered by Rasmussen College and many others. He did learn some foreign languages like Mandarin Chinese (HSK 2), Elementary Arabic and Elementary Italian language as well. He did participate in different university clubs and volunteered in several NGOs.

Upasana Detha is currently an intern at the GRDFT in ‘The Migration News’ forum. She holds M.A. in International relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Waseem Ahmad Wani is a PhD Scholar at Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh India. He obtained an MPhil degree in 2018 from APS University, Rewa India. Mastewal Bitew is currently studying Joint Master program in ‘Transnational Migration’ in the Erasmus Mundus scholarship program in three European Universities since September 2019.  He studied ‘migration and cultural diversity’ at Free Brussels University from the beginning of September 2019 to end of January 2020. Given also that it is a joint master’s degree, He moved to the University of Wroclaw, Poland to specialize ‘intercultural communication and mediation’ from mid of February 2020 to end of June 2020. He also studied ‘International relations’ at the University of Szeged, Hungary beginning of September 2020 to the 20th January 2021.
